Dry skin does not have its own recovery system as it does not produces sufficient oil and moisture to regulate regular skin construction and deconstruction. In simple terms it can be said that dry skin is the result of lack of moisture. The skin is made up of a very protective and complex barrier consisting of lipids, sebum and natural moisturizing factors. This system is known as hydro-lipid system. It is necessary to keep skin full of moisture to keep it healthy it also prevents bacteria infection and other foreign substances to harm the skin. The main problem with the dry skin is that this particular condition damages the hydro lipid system which results in a number of problems such as excessive moisture loss, dry and cracked skin peeling flaking and itchiness.
Dry skin can be aff3ected by the environmental factors, including extreme3 heat, air conditioning, heaters, and even contact dermatitis.
Dry skin is often trouble some because it requires excessive care for the skin to retain the moisture and keep it properly hydrated. The main remedy is to rebuild the hydro-lipid system whether you are suffering from acute or chronically dry skin you just have to make certain changes in your lifesty7le and in your skin care practices to better accommodate your delicate skin and make your life a lot easier.
Since dry skin can be aggravated easily make it a habit to read the labels of the skin care products you use on your skin or may come into contact with. The list includes dishwashing soaps, laundry detergent, perfumes etc. many of these products result in the moisture loss of your skin which is the worst thing if you are already suffering from parched skin.

Even hot water can also cause dry skin, you should only use Luke warm water and avoid long showers and bath. Being in water for along time can also rob your skin o the moisture. And for the skin care products you should only use the products which are specially formulated for the dry skin.
You must exfoliate dry and dead skin but be careful to not to scrub too hard. You should use lotions when your skin is still damp and continue to drink water daily to provide your skin with proper hydration and try using a shielding lotion in place of the regular ones as they work with the skin to restore the hydro lipid system and ensure that skin is receiving the highest amount of moisture and hydration.
You should use a humidifier to maintain ideal humid environment for your skin and should protest it from excessive heat.
