This decision is given when Brussels commercial court has dismissed an action by French beauty brand. The fight against counterfeiting will not be won in legal actions against eBay but by cooperation with manufacturers and brands.

L’Oréal launched legal action against eBay in five European countries for allowing the sale of counterfeit goods on its sites, estimating that between 50% and 60% of fragrances sold on auction websites were fake. L’Oreal is fighting for the quality of products. , L’Oréal said it believed the Brussels court was mistaken in not holding eBay accountable for the sale of counterfeit products on its site.
