Treat your skin correctly in winter environment

While the winter months, we need to pay even more attention to how we care our skin?

There are three type of skin oily, normal, dry skin. First follow I will tell how to protect oily skin for the oily skin just clean and much moisturizing, for normal and dry it need more moisturizing in the winter. Even when it’s raining outside, heated indoor air is drying to the skin, and cold winds will have the same effect.

I will suggest you that people who spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter use a sunscreen that’s a little thicker than one they might use during the summer to ensure full coverage and hydration .

  • I will suggest you any skin type should use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 year-round.
  • I will recommend using cream-based cleansers during the winter.

Also, it’s a good idea to wear protective clothing. Because that’s so much more protective than just sunscreen. If you cannot bring yourself to look that out-of-date on the slopes, I will suggest you, at least wear goggles instead of sunglasses, which are less protective.

At the last, I want to say just use simple tips and enjoy the winter.

Embryonic stem cells from adult skin

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Scientist of US and Japanese researchers said they had reprogrammed adult human cells to function like embryonic stem cells, a development that could alleviate ethical concerns about research on the promising cells. The Japanese team inserted genes into cells derived from skin cells to create cells that share the features of embryonic stem cells.

Embryonic stem cells have the ability to develop into any type of cell and have been lauded for their potential in research and cures for diseases. But because they had only been derived by destroying human embryos they have raised ethical concerns. Opponents have said it is equivalent to taking a human life.

Though the researchers said more study is needed to determine how closely related the cells are to stem cells, they stressed that their studies published in the journals Cell and Science have the potential to circumvent the long-standing ethical concerns because no human embryo is involved.

US President George W Bush, who has twice vetoed bills that would have expanded funding for embryonic stem cell research, welcomed the developments.

“The president believes medical problems can be solved without compromising either the high aims of science or the sanctity of human life,” spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement.

Bush in 2001 limited US federal funding for human embryonic stem- cell research to about 20 lines of stem cells that existed at the time.

Treating Dry Skin For a Glowing Look

Monday, November 12th, 2007

It seems few of us have the perfect skin. Either we are burdened with oil skin and acne, or dry skin and flaking. But treating dry skin doesn’t have to be complicated and in no time you can have clear healthy skin. Dry skin can affect people of all ages but it is most common in older adults and it is a very common problem. Flaking is common with dry skin and during colder weather it tends to cause itching which then leads to scratching which causes additional problems.

Dry skin can be caused by a variety of reasons such as colder dryer weather, a dry work environment, lack of water within the body, or underlying skin issues such as eczema. Dealing with dry skin is not as difficult as you might think. Dry skin needs moisture but it also needs the right kinds of moisture. A common mistake is to slather the skin with a greasy moisturizer which then causes other problems such as acne breakouts. Choosing the correct moisturizer is important, but there’s even more you need to do.

First you need to throw away the harsh soap sand get a good soap substitute or a moisturizing soap such as Olay or Dove produces. Soap is drying so instead you need to choose the correct soap for your dry skin. Bathing provides your skin with moisture temporarily but then it removes the skins natural oil layer which results in more moisture loss. Limit the length of your shower to no more than 15 minutes and always use warm water rather than hot which helps reduce the drying of the skin.

Apply moisturizer immediately after showering. You need to choose a good moisturizer that is not greasy. Water based are best for the skin but oil based are better at trapping moisture. Alternating can be helpful especially if you’re prone to acne break outs as well. Remember oil based and greasy are two different things. Greasy lotions are heavy and thick and result in clogged pores. You need to apply it frequently throughout the day. The film they leave on the skin traps moisture underneath which helps your dry skin.
